Stephen Colbert & Farmworkers Take Fight to Congress

Remember when UFW President Arturo Rodriguez was on the Colbert Show on July 7? Stephen Colbert committed to come work in the fields and take a farm worker's job. Well he did!  And his migrant farm worker ("Take Our Jobs") episodes aired  on “The Colbert Report” on Comedy Central this week.

Please watch this episode and then take action by signing the AgJOBS pledge today.

Not only did Colbert to go out to the fields to harvest beans and corn, but today he even testified in Congress before the House Subcommittee on Immigration and Border Security:

Colbert broke out of character to explain why he decided to advocate for the issue.

"...it seems like one of the least powerful people in the United States are migrant workers who come and do our work but don't have any rights as a result. But yet we still invite them to come here and at the same time ask them to leave. [...] Migrant workers suffer and have no rights."

Please take action and make a difference by signing the AgJOBS pledge TODAY.

Pledge: I support the bipartisan AgJOBS bill put together by the nation's agricultural industry and the United Farm Workers and will do all I can do to see it passed in 2010.
